Every Tuesday, successful businessman Ron Bradley leads small group mentor sessions with male youth on topics including Black history, career exploration, life skills, emotional regulation, and character development. Sessions encourage self-reflection, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
The teenagers, ages 13+, will tour the hospitality and nursing programs to determine whether this college suits their future endeavors.
Youth will end the summer program celebrating at Slick City! They will have fun flying through the air, making acrobatic dunks and flips as we transition into a new school year! The Gym will be closed to those NOT attending the trip.
Our young farmers will visit Farmer Adams at New Roots to learn more about farming and how they can take care of the LFLG urban garden.
On this day, we will recognize all LFLG Members and staff born in September with a gift, a sweet treat, and games!
In celebration of their 15 years of service, a team from Veterans United will collaborate with the LFLG staff through a day of service by assisting with the beautification of the Gym.

Every Monday, the boys and girls learn how to play the game of chess. Through this critical-thinking game, they learn additional skills about life, such as problem-solving and strategizing, and how to regulate their feelings to achieve the objective of the game: to capture their opponent's king!
Long-time volunteer Amanda Eagen teaches the girls proper ways to stretch and move their bodies, while incorporating a space for them to feel and flow with the music.
